We hired Aikey's Home Improvements to add an addition to our home and to assist us in updating our existing home. We were very pleased with Kirk's and his subcontractors professionalism, suggestions on improving final result and attention to detail. Our project was completed ahead of schedule and within the budget. We cannot say enough good things about Kirk and his team. Very, very pleased; we plan to hire him again to design and build our deck. We definitely would recommend Aikey's Home Improvements!

Complete kitchen remodeling. Removed everything including cabinets, the flooring and a non-bearing wall. Replaced with hardwood floor, all new cabinets with granite counter tops and a subway tile back splash. Replaced dishwasher and microwave oven with exterior vent.. Added a cabinet peninsula replacing the wall. Replaced lighting including pendant lamps over peninsula and under cabinet lights over counter top. Installed ceiling fan in dining area. Excellent workmanship, everything completed as promised. Kirk Aikey was great to work with, when the wrong counter tops were delivered he corrected the problem immediately. He was always knowledgeable and helped tremendously with the design and modifications throughout the project. He was always open to discussion and if there was a difference of opinion, he did it my way. My only complaint, the project took a little longer than planned.

Aikey's Home Improvements, LLC replaced all my windows, doors, siding and trim in less than a week, for a moderate price. The work was performed carefully with close attention paid to the details. The installers were polite and courteous, and kept the backyard, porch and walkways cleared when they finished work each day. I was particulary impressed when the crew returned on a weekend, to finish covering one side of my home, before an approaching snowstorm arrived. Nice work! I'm still very happy with the look of my home!

Usually there's three types estimates you can get from remodeling/construction companies. 1. Joe with a truck (Lowest price point, highest risk) 2. medium sized local companies (prices somewhere in the middle, less risk than Joe ) 3.Larger Companies (Oh my god this costs how much? little to no risk because you already paid for the potential risks upfront.) Aikey's Home Improvements is the kind of business that breaks the mold of being categorized, and is easily the best choice for what they do. 1. They have every certification and training larger companies offer. This means the risk of hiring underskilled labor is eliminated. 2. They have been in business since 1959. This means they are not a fly-by-night company. Too often small business contractors can take a job over their head, that ends up costing both parties more money than they can stand to lose, so the business files bankruptcy and restarts the company under a new name. No one can afford to hire a company like that no matter how low their price point is. This risk is eliminated with Aikey's. 3. Their price came in at the Medium sized Local Company. Knowing that they weren't a risk for the new home we bought, and weren't charging the excessive pricing of some of the other guys. They did things correct and methodically. I probably wont use a different company as long as I'm in Central VA.

We hired Aikeys to replace our roof. From start to finish we are extremely satisfied. He and his crew were professional, on time, very neat with great attention to detail. I highly recommend you give them a call. We will use them in future with out other projects.

They do siding, windows, and roofs. On the siding job, they first came out to give us an estimate. We had received estimates from several companies. Theirs was not the lowest estimate, but it was the most inclusive estimate we received. We have a lot of wood on our house, in addition to the siding, and they racked all that and included it in the estimate, in addition to doing the siding. The quality of wood was good. They also put up gutters for us at the same time. We haven’t had any problems with it, or with any of the other work they did. That’s one of the reasons we’ve called them back out again to do our roof. Their price and quality of materials were good, as was their communication. When they were through, they cleaned up. They were very responsive. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Aikey’s Home Improvements put siding on my house several years ago. They will be coming out again soon to give me an estimate for my roof.

We were surprised that the job was done without any attempt to gouge us on the repair of the rot. As stated above, we were hardly impacted at all. The only (tiny) negative thing that happened was damage to a small Japanese maple. Fortunately, the plant healed itself so this in itself turned out not to be a problem. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The siding on our home had to be replaced because the wooden siding was rotting. Besides the siding, there was a lot of rot underneath the exterior on the 2X4s and other supporting lumber. All work was completed professionally and with little impact on us. The price of the high quality siding was very fair We were surprised that the cost of removing and repairing internal rot was done at a very good price. This was a very large and messy job. Everyday before leaving the vast majority of debris cleaned up and placed in the vendor supplied dumpster.

We lost a few different sections of shingles during a storm. They were quick to respond . They tarped my roof and protected my home from any additional rainfall. Very good experience

We contracted Aikey's Home Improvement for multiple projects. They installed a new roof on both the home and our shed as well as new windows and shutters. I couldn't be happier. My neighbors even commented on how nice the roof looks. They used the Atlas Pinnacle roofing system which has a lifetime warranty and scothguard to protect it from those ugly black stripes. And my windows .... WOW!!! I'm not sure what more to say. I recommend them to everyone I talk to.
